[mslee's thoughts] Cheese in the Trap Episode 16 - Final Thoughts

Image
Writing my final thoughts on Yoo Jung... because for me, he is the heart of the drama. Without him, Cheese in the Trap will be just another ordinary story of boy meets girl or vice versa.  Seol would not have an interesting story to tell if she has not met a sunbae like Yoo Jung. It's been a week since the last two episode of the drama Cheese in the Trap has been aired. Much has been said about the ending and about the controversies that enveloped the drama.  The downside of reading spoilers, news and comments of the netizens is that it affected me as a viewer and sharing my thoughts was put off for awhile because they also echoed what most sites already shared. Well it is clearly written in my previous posts how I view the turning point of the drama in the latter episodes and it continue to feel that way as the ending came near. My position stays about my dissatisfaction and frustrations concerning the storyline gone off road and I think even in the las...

GIF - Hong Seol and Yoo Jung Cheese in the Trap Episode 15 Highlights

Image
Been doing separate post of Jung/Seol moments... One more episode and it is the end of the story of Seol and Jung sunbae. Whatever the ending, there's a possibility of separation because of the events happening in episode 15. Meanwhile, I won't discuss or further ponder on what's to come. This has been a good ride from the start, then veering off road halfway, and now found it's course again, even if the continuity of the story was somewhat damaged. But what's already happened won't change the result of the development [or lack of] of the characters. Episode 15 brings back Yoo Jung sunbae. His confrontation with Sang Chul was witnessed by Seol. I got a feeling that she would not be able to accept him but I think her love for him overpowered whatever apprehension she had regarding the actions of Jung. Personally, I did not find it too harsh considering the weak and annoying character of Sang Chul but for others, it was the opposite. It was an action t...

[mslee's thoughts] Cheese in the Trap Episode 15 - It All Comes Back to Yoo Jung

Image
It continues to frustrate  me seeing the path the story goes and the lesson learned the drama wants to share with the viewers regarding Yoo Jung as the main character. At the end of the day, it suggests that it was all Yoo Jung's fault how everyone is in misery. The term "karma" [ the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences. ] is obviously the theme of the story in connection with Yoo Jung's actions and that sooner he will have a taste of his own medicine.  But then, I want to protest that it should not be Yoo Jung who should be blamed for whatever results that come or happen in people around him particularly the accident that happened to Seol. Again, I want to reiterate, those people around Yoo Jung who have been taking more than they should have from him, like time, favor, generosity, even friendship, got what they deserve for the same amount of sincerity [or lack of it] they giv...
