Episode 2 Inspiring Generation Review - Shin Jung Tae Showed A Fierce Character

Shin Jung Tae faced one of the toughest fighter in Dobi Nori gang led by Hwang Bong Sik. He was second in command Poong Cha. Jung Tae accused the group of stealing his hard earned money he was saving for Chung A's medicine. He showed that he was not scared and that he would fight. Poong Cha gave him what he came for and he was just to tough for Jung Tae to beat. I think his passion, his strong character impressed Bong Sik. He was seeing Poong Cha when he was also the same age as Jung Tae. A fighter.

The incident made Dobi Nori interested enough to take care of his wounds and make him one of the boys. Poong Cha, although a gangster showed that he can be gentle and human. In the hospital where Jung Tae recuperate, Poong Cha visited him and fed him and advised him.

The  most worried of the situation was of course Jjang Ddol. He went to Ok Ryeon and told her about what happened. The young girl was so agitated and worried she took the money from the box in the store and run away to Jung Tae. He woke up with her by his side. I think the relationship although suggesting affections, but Ok Ryeon was really the one in love with Jung Tae. For his part, she is the constant female friend he grew up with and love. But I will still gauge how he really feels for her in the story.

Meanwhile, Gaya is doing the illegal stuff of selling smuggled goods. Her way of easy money and supporting herself and her father. She is not an easy one. She knew the ins and outs of the business. She knew the danger but she has no other means. She met with a man who swam his way to the place they must meet. He then gave her packs of imported cigarettes.

I wonder where is Jung Tae's father all these years and my question was answered. He was in prison the whole time but what happened before then was still a mystery. When Ok Ryeon slept with Chung A because Jung Tae did not come home, she was asked by Chung A if she knew their father and she said yes. She heard stories about him that he was a great fighter and that people are afraid of his presence. I gather that Shin Young Chool, Jung Tae's father is not an ordinary character but an intriguing one. He was released from prison. He visited an ahjussi by the streets who tells fortune of people.

Ok Ryeon is  a mischievous one. Because she slept out she tried sneaking in without noticing by trying to jump on the high wall. But she failed because her mother, Kim Sung Deok and her maid saw her so her attempt at jumping failed. She was hit many times in her legs as a reprimand. Sung Deok knew about the money she stole in the store.

Gaya was bargaining her packs of cigarettes to a man when a group of smugglers found her. They were pissed at her for doing the deals alone. They were interested at the goods she has. She tried to escape but she was surrounded and the scary man hit her and kicked her until she was down on the floor. She was in a difficult situation but the sudden appearance of Sinichi [Jo Dong Heok] finished the men. He was a good fighter. His skills is something he must have mastered. I don't think he has yet to loose in a fight, considering he is the right hand of Denkai Doyama [Kim Kap Soo] the Yakuzi leader. Sinichi was sent to deal with Gaya's father.

He told Gaya that this is only the beginning of a much hard life for her. That many will still come her way and that she needs to face them all and endure. Gaya asked who he is but he never responded and walked away.

Dobi Nori gang helped looked for the one who stole the money form Jung Tae. It was the two men Jjang Ddol had a deal with. The transporters. Jung Tae could not hold back his anger and punched them.

Another gang, Bool Gom gang who collects money from the rickshaw pullers headed by Bool Gom, Omogari and Do Ggoo who is in charge of collecting also had an incident with Jung Tae when he hit his nose. Bool Gom is also having a word war with Bong Sik but he won't fight because he knew the business will suffer. Dobi Nori is a ferocious gang as well and I take it that more vicious than Bool Gom gang. Besides, Bool Gom is also relying on the smuggled goods from the Dobi Nori.

But Do Ggoo wanted to get even with Jung Tae and Jjang Ddol. His group entrapped them and even if Jung Tae is a strong fighter, they were outnumbered. The fight was witnessed by Sinichi and he was fascinated by Jung Tae's skills. But he said, he is not looking for a fighter and left the scene. Do Ggoo was holding a long steel bar and ready to hit Jung Tae when Poong Cha appeared. He told them not to mess with their men, because Jung Tae and Jjang Ddol are Dobi Nori and that is their territory. But Do Ggoo was so arrogant he did not heed. There's no other choice for Poong Cha but to take the group down. He left with Jung Tae and Jjang Ddol. He gave them his wallet and told them to buy suits and eat.

That night, Jung Tae arrived home and only saw Ok Ryeon waiting for him. That afternoon Chung A fainted and Ok Ryeon saw her. She  shouted for help. Shin Young Chool, the father was nearby and when he heard Ok Ryeon's cry, he ran towards the house and saw her daughter. He brought her to the hospital. Ok Ryeon hit Jung Tae in her frustrations of his absence. Perhaps it was because she was very scared that something bad would have happened to Chung A and he was not there.

He went to see his sister and asked for forgiveness. He faced his father and all his pent up emotions he hurled at him. He told him to get lost and that his sister doesn't know he is still alive. He really hates his father. The father never bothered to explain the unanswered questions but received Jung Tae's anger.

Jung Tae told Jjang Ddol that they will really join the Dobi Nori gang. But he wanted to be the one who jumps on trains passing on the bridge. Poong Cha already told him before that it is not an easy job and many are killed for taking the chance. He must muster jumping on the bridge onto the waters below but that also is a huge risk because the current will sweep his body so fast.

Jung Tae is hard headed and determined. Telling Jjang Ddol his plans of jumping from the bridge, the loyal friend ran to Bong Sik and Poong Cha. A member of the group, Gang Gae is someone to look out for. He was not showing friendliness to Jung Tae becoming their member. He also went with the group to the place where Jung Tae was. He was sarcastic and skeptical.

At the same hideout/office, there was Gaya with other transporter maybe collecting their goods and money. She heard about Jung Tae and with fear and anxiety for his safety, she went to where he was. She was looking at Jung Tae, and she was very concerned.

Bong Sik and Poong Cha while seeing if Jung Tae will really jump showed uneasiness, admiration, and fear for his life. In the end they all called out to him to get down. But when he did not hear them but proceed to stand there waiting for the train to pass by, they called out to him to jump.

Jung Tae was really scared but holding on. At the last seconds he jumped.

Jung Tae has a heart of steel to face whatever challenges he will encounter and at the same time a heart full of gentleness towards the people he loves. Friends matter to him. And I guess, loyalty will be given to people he trust.

The story is taking shape. Background details are already laid. More characters to be introduced but for now, I am looking at a group of gangsters that will be even more ferocious and vicious and scary as the story progressed.

Episode 2 showed some scenes that definitely filmed with caution yet magnificently. And of course, the fight scenes are something to watch out for.
