[mslee's thoughts] Wonderful Days - KBS Weekend Drama
For almost a month now, I haven't followed some of the current dramas airing. But the other night I decided to take a peek at this new drama via KBS Wonderful Days. Lee Seo Jin, Kim Hee Sun and Taecyeon are only some of the cast.
It is a family drama and will have 50 episodes. It has been a while since I watched Lee Seo Jin and I think he has a great chemistry with the beautiful Kim Hee Sun. I like the synopsis, a man who came back on his town after a long time of being absent and living his own life away from family. A man who has sad past with a rich girl who was his first love.
A typical story of poor family and a wealthy family. But the twist is that the wealthy family who looked down on them is now struggling. The pace is a little slow but I don't mind. I also like the accent they have living outside Seoul.
The story is yet to unfold the mystery of Kang Dong Hee's true mother. He grew up as Kang Dong Suk's younger brother but it seems that he has another mother and that he already knows about it but stayed a loving son to his mother, Jang So Sim and a caring brother to Dong Suk's twin sister Kang Dong Ok. Kang Dong Ok has a slow mental capabilities and needs a lot of protection and love.
Cha Hae Won [Kim Hee Sun] is trying to keep the family together and working in a lending office. It is awkward to meet her first love Kang Dong Suk who is now a successful prosecutor from Seoul. All she remembered of him was the time he rejected her when they were supposed to run away together. The pain and perhaps humiliation of that time doubled when she met again today with her looking a mess and he looking every inch the prosecutor.
The dog/cat relationship between Dong Hee and Hae Won is something interesting. I hope there won't be a love triangle between these main cast but maybe it will also help Dong Suk remember his feelings for Hae Won.
I decided that this is going to be my other weekend drama. Looking forward to the development of the story.
