[mslee's thoughts] Healer Episode 18 Screen caps Review

A lot happened in this episode. I thought Jung Hoo had with him the recorded testimony of his father which he got from the place where his father's ashes were, but it was all orchestrated after all. It was already in the hands of the Kang Dae Yong, the errand girl who always backs up Healer. The plan succeeded in making the goons believed that Jung Hoo had it. They chase him and when caught he asked to be brought to the Elder.

The plan coincide with Moon Ho's online broadcast that day at the office. He was feeding news about the story of Jung Hoo's father and his friend Oh Gil Han in 1992. The tape recorded testimony was also played while Jung Hoo captured photos of the elusive Elder.

Jung Hoo was not scared one bit of this calculating haraboji [grandfather] who calls himself farmers that reaps society of things that make him and the rest of his accomplice stay in power. Jung Hoo told the Elder that it is time to remember someone else's son or daughter next time he decided to kill a person.

I thought finally Jung Hoo will get some answers from the Elder because he was asked to drink a tea but thankfully he declined. Yes, it might be poisoned. The man just talked in riddles while he lit an incense which contained something that made Jung Hoo sleepy and dizzy. He fought hard to stay awake but he became weak. I really thought the wicked Elder had done harm to Jung Hoo. But he left.

Well, Young Shin was just outside and she found him sitting and seemed unconscious. She hurriedly went to his side and he was half awake. He wanted to sleep more and rest. He was safe.

The Real Story

The Betrayal of Moon Sik

Two friends went to expose a truth about "farmers" whom they called themselves and saw something beyond their comprehension. Truckloads of boxes with money inside were stashed to be transferred in that place when they were caught taking photos. Moon Sik who was their designated driver that time stayed in the car waiting.  Oh Gil Han decided to take away the attention of the men who saw them and let Seo Joong Seok hide. But the men beat Gil Han to death. Seo Joon Seok saw all of it and decided to take a photo even if Moon Sik was stopping him. He was dragged away by Moon Sik towards the car for safety and run away, leaving Gil Han.

His testimony was recorded but it was halted. And the painful part, Moon Sik who knew the truth decided to betrayed his friend.

Time to meet Jung Hoo the boyfriend

Young Shin told Jung Hoo to live like any normal man. He must come in through the front door not through her window. He must also greet her father and introduced himself properly. It was not an easy task for someone like Jung Hoo who had never lived a normal life but he tried for Young Shin.

He was like Bong Soo again, easily scared in front of her father and the ex-convict ahjussi. He stammered. He confessed being the man whom Young Shin nursed a few days ago which made her father agitated and acting like a father who was protective of her.

How to be normal?

It's making jung Hoo lazy and sleepy all the time. Not active as Healer, not looking for work or running secret errands, his time was dedicated to be a photographer in the news company while Young Shin do the interviews. He often sleeps in the office. He was described by Young Shin like an animal that is lethargic when there's no prey around. His salary left him shocked! It was not as near as how he used to earn.

Moon Sik is getting greedy. He even made the creepy ahjussi stole Moon Ho's things that he treasured from his chest. Moon Sik brought it to the studio and let the public know that he was a part of the five in the photo and friends with those people Moon Ho reported. Moon Ho was clearly hurt and disappointed with his brother. Moon Sik's wife was also sad and maybe angry towards Moon Sik. He used the media to gain trust and pretended to be a righteous person. He is becoming pathetic and despicable at the same time.

I have a bad feeling seeing the scenes where Moon Ho took pictures of his employees. It was like he was capturing precious moments for the last time. I hope I am wrong. He had a nice talk with Jung Hoo while Young Shin was sleeping. Jung Hoo also told him that he can abandon him if it is a choice between him and her. I sensed a deep friendship already grew between them.

Moon HO was kidnapped. It was not the Double S gang. It was the goons who chased Jung Hoo and Young Shin before. Jung Hoo noticed the discarded camera at the parking area inside the bukliding where Moon Ho lives. He had a bad premonition. He decided to track Moon Ho together with ahjumma the expert computer wiz. He left Young Shin who will stay at Moon Ho's place and wait for updates.

Just as I thought, the creepy ahjussi appeared again besides Young Shin. Chincha! This old man is making me shiver I am definitley sure Young Shin got the biggest scare of her life right there and then! But I remember the necklace Jung Ho just gave her, It has a tracker that can be switched on and off. I do hope she remembers it. I hope she is wearing it inside her sweater.

As Jung Hoo chased the car where Moon Ho was, the mobile phone that they were tracking was given to another guy riding a motorbike and going opposite where Moon Ho is. Jung Hoo will find himself at a dead end.

Will Moon Ho be a sacrificial lamb in the story? Please, no. But I am not certain where the story will go. Moon Sik needed a jolt to see his mistakes and to pay for his sins. Will Moon Ho be the jolt he needed to turn around and fight the Elder at last? I like Moon Ho. He has been a nice guy in the story. Maybe not a fighter, but he is logical. He got his courage when he found both Young Shin/Ji Ahn and Jung Hoo.

Moon Sik really has to pay for his crimes.
