[mslee's thoughts] GIF D-Day Episode 9 Highlights

Can I just post first the development or progress between Hae Sung and Jung Ddolmi?
Yes, finally, the kiss happened!

Chincha! I grinned the whole time. I think this was long overdue since they have been bantering since episode 1. The tension between them grows each day but because they were wrapped in a difficult atmosphere, the romance took a back seat.

At last...Hae Sung gave in to his urge to kiss Ddol Mi even in the midst of unbelievable scenario where both of them just pushed a van and got themselves splashes of mud. But it all made the kiss more sweet because it was spontaneous... out of nowhere... unexpected.

Just wish they could have talked more after that kiss. But then, they were in a rush, trying to make it to the airport where a seat has been reserved for the patient that they need to transfer.

Still, this short romance was a breather from the chaos and difficulties that this drama has been showing since episode 1. Something to smile about and grin about for viewer like me who has been waiting this moment from the OTP.

So...back to what's going on in the story. Nothing has changed. Hae Sung is still fighting with his strength to do what he has to do as a doctor, and that is to save more people if possible. Woo Jin is not taking his side but what's interesting is that he could not abandon Hae Sung even if he wanted to. There is an invisible bond between them or perhaps it was because of his guilt that he carries until this day towards Hae Sung's mother. For whatever happened then, no one really knows but him and Park Ji Na who never uttered a word about it even if she is supporting Hae Sung as a friend in his fight with the Director, her father.

Chief Kang is barely holding on to her sanity in the midst of problems that keeps arising in the hospital. Pacifying the patients and the relatives over the gas that the hospital badly needed when government aide is not coming. Angry relatives of the patients who risked their lives getting the gas could not hear reasons at first but in the end they gave in.

Just as the romance is starting for Hae Sung and Ddol Mi, their parting came fast. She will return to Busan with the patient. She will return alone. And their goodbyes were short. I felt sad as she kept on calling Hae Sung's name to bid him a proper goodbye but the plane already closed it's doors. It was a melancholic parting that they have to endure because they work from different place.

I wonder how will they reunite?

I have been trying to update my thoughts but it seems I can't catch up.

Even without the electricity, the surgery proceeded and with relief, it was ended without so much as a hitch.

Patients need to have oxygen with the help of nurses and relatives...

Something seems to be wrong with Woo Jin....

Something is wrong with the patient Hae Sung operated on, Ahn Dae Gil's friend...

The oil / gas problem...

Argument about the oil /gas...
These people were hoping to use the gas to ride the boat and seek other hospital for their relatives.

Only one more drug that both Hae Sung's mother and Ahn Dae Gil's friend need. Hae Sung chose that man to have it instead of his mother. Chief Kang opposed him.

Ddol Mi chose to give his mother the last of the drug...

Transfering the VIP patient...

Again, Hae Sung lost to the Director...

Pushing the van...
prior to the kiss that happened.
