(Mslee's thoughts) Shipping is Crazy in The King Loves.. But #teamWon All The Way!๐
Ha! Drama is good and writernim Song Ji Na is really making viewers form opposing point of views which led me to question if I am watching the same drama scenes with the other half of the viewers. Let's blame it on shipping couples gone crazy! Yeah, truly the drama has divided into 2 major camps. Team #wonsan and team #rinsan. Setting aside team won and team rin alone the drama has created some heated discussion regarding the romance surrounding the 3 main characters. Of course the lovelines (scenes...with ost, slowmotion and long silent stares ) are being interpreted in a way how shippers want to see it which seriously makes it crazy for viewers who are in it for the plot development and conflicts of the story.
As for me... This is the bait that reeled me in๐๐
The King Loves narrative that pulled me in as Won (Si Wan) spoke the lines in a very intriguingly melancholic way....
"This is the story of me, who came to love you more than myself."
Romantic? ๐๐definitely. But then it also sounded sad as Won spoke this line. Which then makes me think a foreboding unpleasant ending will come to play.๐๐ญ yet hoping it won't.
Because it is crazy to jump into shipping (well i so wanted it to be #wonsan endgame) with the latest scenes showing more of #rinsan i felt my Won (๐getting possesive eh) is looking pitiful that i jumped ship and just decided to support him alone. Although i can say that up until the latest episode (14) i am still watching the drama in neutral perspective and not really seeing what #rinsan seems to be seeing and getting happy about regarding the interaction even if it is sad. Stripping the story of the triangle loveline, i think it is still lacking in terms of depth and substance. Reasons why i have to see Won progress into something that will challenge the conflicts of the drama
and shell out more of writernim Song Ji Na's hidden card. Won has been promoted in the teaser/spoiler as someone who has a dark side that will be unveiled as power, politics and love for one woman (San) begin to play.
As team #won i am definitely anticipating this another dimension of his character. I want to see if i can like him turning villaneous because of his love for San which in effect will affect greatly his dealings and compromises regarding politics and power. Amazing anti heroes/protagonist in a sageuk drama are rare like Lee Bang Won in SFD but it never stopped me from admiring such character and I am looking forward to be amazed by Won.
Seeing how he will throw himself and his beloved Rin over his love for San is something to watched out for. Whatever or whoever the endgame pair is I am ready to know. A tiny wishful thinking crossing fingers for my #wonsan heart that hides in the corner of my mind will be welcome of course if the writer will have mercy on #wonsan shippers. But if it is not going to be...gwenchana.๐✌
Just give me worth watching Won character that fits the title character The King Loves.๐
