[mslee's thoughts] Witch's Romance Episodes 9 & 10 Screen caps - Ji Yeon Chose Shi Hoon

This week's episodes showed how Dong Ha reacted to Ji Yeon's choice.

It is never easy to deal with a heart break. Getting dumped when the relation has not really started yet feels so unfair. When someone from the past comes back, it feels like whatever you started right now will be halted. And usually, someone coming back is bad news..

He had a feeling already that Shi Hoon's presence in Ji Yeon's life will bring back old memories and her old feelings. He never gave up the hope until Ji Yeon told him she hold onto Shi Hoon. She asked Shi Hoon not to go. His next project should be in Africa but he stayed. 

Poor Dong Ha is heart broken. Although Soo Chul remains supportive, still he has to make Dong Ha laugh and forget his miseries. The went clubbing, drinking and Dong Ha really got drunk. He was so drunk he talked to Shi Hoon's poster at the waiting shed. He was acting crazy drunk man. He fell asleep. Next thing he knew, Ji Yeon was there to pick him up. The atmosphere was uncomfortable. Ji Yeon admitted to him that she chose Shi Hoon. 

Dong Ha needed to move on, so he decided to submit his resignation. It was accepted. Ji Yeon was caught off guard. She tried to reason out with him, trying to hold him back but he was determined to move on. He was aloof the whole day. Next day he was absent. She texted him but no answer. Her reaction seemed selfish but I think she was guilty making Dong Ha sad and heartbroken. She might also be acting this way because unconsciously she does not want him to go. Maybe she has not yet realized her true feelings for Dong Ha. Age has always been an issue. Dong Ha was frustrated by that fact. 

When he got himself into a brawl, his father appeared in the police station. But their relationship was not good so he stayed cold towards his father. Ji Yeon witnessed the scene but kept it to herself. Whatever her thoughts about it, only she herself knew.

Maybe Dong Ha thought he should not wallow in self pity and be cold towards Ji Yeon on his last day at the office. He became attentive but silent again. His actions were not missed by Ji Yeon and it somehow made her inspired to work. He made her coffee, get her documents as she typed away from the computer. They left together and went to eat dinner alone. It was as if nothing happened. As if Shi Hoon  never existed. They enjoyed themselves. There was an event in the restaurant where they ate. The MC called their attention as a couple. Dong Ha was about to give her a kiss on the lips but then decided to kiss her on the forehead to the spectator's disappointments. They went home feeling lighthearted.  They were happy. Teasing each other. But then Shi Hoon was there waiting for Ji Yeon. He witnessed how the two were so comfortable with each other. He realized Dong Ha can make Ji Yeon laugh.

I was glad that Ji Yeon's mother noticed Dong Ha. I think she would have preferred him over Shi Hoon but because it looks like Ji Yeon and Shi Hoon got back together, she had no choice but to give her blessings. She asked them to get married before the year ends.

 A farewell party was arranged for Dong Ha. After the first round they went home together. Dong Ha was too drunk. He laid his head on Ji Yeon's lap at the bench just outside their apartments. Towards the end, he kissed Ji Yeon on the lips.

Ji Yeon will soon feel confuse about her feelings. She might be holding on to a past that never had closure that is why she thought she is glad Shi Hoon got back and will stay. She never realized all this time, Dong Ha already occupied the place Shi Hoon deserted long ago. This will be Ji Yeon's realization in the coming episodes. Who she really loves. I like how Dong Hae deals with his broken heart. He showed his pains. But he never use anyone to make him forget or to make JI Yeon upset and jealous just to get her attention. His sufferings are already making her care for him. I think she will soon know who she needs more to be bu=y her side.
